DATA and INFORMATION
DATA: Data is actually derived from a Latin word {datum} which means something in raw form. But technically data can be defined as : raw collection of facts and figures. Data can not be used decision making. Because data is not the final thing and used as input In a system for generating useful output.
INFORMATION: when data is purified, organized,sorted and processed than it becomes information. Information can be used for decision making because it is the final format of data. Computer displays information as output on output devices which can be further be used for varies purposes.
